I've been a nerd since I could read, so it's fitting that I ended up as a writer. Inhaling 400-page books over the weekend was my hobby of choice, and eventually it occurred to me that I could try creating stories myself. 

Since then, I've been playing with the written word in all of its various manifestations. 

In my free time, I explore self-image and queerness through poetry and short fiction and create science-backed write ups for various pet care topics.  

As for my career, I work at the Vermont Arts Council as a communications specialist, where I spread the word about the many creative endeavors happening in Vermont and advocate for the local creative sector. 

Perhaps most impressively, I am a Certified Rat Tickler.  Tickling rats is a technique used in laboratories to reduce the stress of the rats involved in procedures, but I just use it to play with my pets.
